Scotland under 21 info

Post by bobby s » Mon Jul 12, 2010 2:58 pm

Is there a website with team line ups for the u21s?

I'm going to compile a list of all Hibs honoured players and who they played against, and I wonder if a website existed before I started trawling the Rothmans.

SFA website from 2002-03 onwards. Andrew Ward's 'Scotland The Team' has line-ups, results etc from 1976-1987. That cuts down the Rothmans to 1987-2002.

Thanks David, I've ordered a copy.

I've also had a brainstorm - most of the information I need is on Litsters disk.

It's a laborious process though. 26 separate files all have to opened then searched for Hibs players then for U-21. I honestly think if you've got the Rothmans it'll be easier to go through the 15 seasons not available in Ward or from the SFA.

Don't get me wrong. Litster's disks are great but for some things they're not easy to search through.

The current (2009-2010) edition of the Sky Football Yearbook (Rothmans as was) gives names, clubs and year first capped for all Under-21 caps - which would at least give you a starting point.

Andrew Ward's 'Scotland the Team' gives the line-ups for every Under-23 match and for the Under-21 games from 1976 to 1986, which again might help get you started.

News of the World annuals are good too. Nothing like some fresh research also and that smells like a book in itself...
