Nothing on John Litster's pre-war disk. Steve Emms' book has the same moves as you do but no further information. And there are no league appearances or goals for any of those club in the Athletic News annuals for the period after 1927.

Many thanks for your help. I have a further query, though, about another player. Fleming Falconer was apparently with Bo'ness from Sept 1926 to March 1928, when he moved south of the border, but I have no information about his time there - does anyone know if he made the first team at Bo'ness?

Not in the season they were in the top flight (1927-28) but can't say about 1926-27.

Many thanks. If anyone out there has appearances and goals for Bo'ness during their Scottish League years, I am interested to hear from you ...
Another player - George Reay joined Raith from Kettering in Dec 1925 and appears to have made his debut for them against Partick Thistle that month. Does anyone have games and goals for him prior to his transfer from Raith to Bristol Rovers in May 1928, please?

Thanks again for your help.
Sorry, everyone, but I am full of questions ... Three for now:

1. John Muir was with Falkirk, 1928-1930, and apparently played in 94 Scottish League games, scoring once; does anyone know which game the goal came in?
2. David Bruce was with East Fife, 1930-31 and apparently played in five League games that season, scoring once - again, does anyone know which game he scored in?
3. John Richardson - more of a shot in the dark, this one, as he was in Division Two - he was with Alloa Athletic, July 1934-May 1936, Leith Athletic, May 1936-Dec 1938, then East Stirling, Dec 1938-1939. Does anyone have line-ups for those clubs for those seasons and can tell me appearances/goals, please?

Once again, many thanks in advance.

Fleming Falconer was the club captain of Bo'ness. He was certainly a regular in their promotion winning season 1926/27 and also played v Celtic in the Scottish Cup. Later he played in the USA. I have notes somewhere re these two seasons for Bo'ness but can't remember where they are!

Thank you, Cowdenbeather. If you do track down those notes, I would be very interested. After Bo'ness, Falconer joined Bristol Rovers, 9 March 1928 (20 Football League games) and was then at Linlithgow Rose from 1931 and, between Dec 1931 and Aug 1932 at Armadale. He was indeed in the States - he played twice each for J and P Coats and New Bedford Whalers in 1927, but had spent six months prior to that on Rhode Island with Providence Club. He may also have been at Fall River FC at one point approx 1927. He died in Glasgow, 26 April 1991.

I can only find four league games for David Bruce in 1930-31 and no goals. Also I can only find 44 league games for Muir and no goals.

Scratch what I said about no goals. Still 44 games but Athletic News has one goal for Muir in 1928-29 but not this game. Glasgow Herald credits this goal to centre-forward Lowe.

I mentioned Andrew Dick on here before. Is he the centre-half who made his debut for Airdrieonians, 10.8.29 at Easter Road or was this his brother William? Either way, how many games/goals did either brother make at Airdrie, please?

I don't think Andrew Dick ever played for Airdrie though William did. In any case there was no player by name of Dick in the match you refer to. The Airdrie centre-half that day was James Morrison, a summer signing from St Andrew's United. William Dick made six league appearances (no goals) in 1925-26.

There was an Alex Dick who played for Airdrie for several seasons in the 1920s and at the same time as William Dick so that might be where any confusion comes from. Both were right-backs.
