A wee argument someone may be able to solve, who had the first all seater stadium in Scotland, dates if possible, thanks

Aberdeen became all-seated in 1978 but one stand was uncovered and with benches. Clydebank's shortly thereafter and mainly benches

No they didn't. They only used the main stand - 7,500 seats I think - but the stadium (16,000 or so in total) wasn't all-seater. At times the terracing was used. I recall standing in the freezing, open-air terracing there on October 31st 1992. The stand was off limits owing to a cat show being held inside the stadium!

Sorry to contrdict you, but what you were standing on was the remanants of the bench-seating from the 1970s.

I sat there several times at Athletics events - the British International Games in 1971 and 1972 and the Europa Cup Meeting as late as 1979 or 1980.

For the Commonwealth Games in 1970 and 1986 the bench-seating was augmented with temporary stands on the tarmac areas to the rear, taking the capacity to around 25,000.

More recently two sections of the bench ing have been removed. The photo in this link shows the original seating areas to the right and in the foreground and the cleared area towards the left.

Looking at an Aberdeen site, it mentions Aberdeen being first on 1-07- 79 ?
