Only have league details before outbreak of war. He played in four of Alloa's five league matches, making his debut at home to St Johnstone Aug 12th 1939 in a 3-0 win. Played in a 5-2 defeat at Arbroath a week later then missed the match at St Johnstone which the Wasps lost 4-0. He returned for the 3-2 home win over Motherwell on Aug 26th and played in the 2-0 loss at Partick Thistle on Sep 2nd.

John Litster has him moving to Celtic Nov 15th 1941. No record of him playing league football in either England or Scotland post-war even though he would have been just 31 at the start of 1946-47. Died 1981.

There was a James Culley - goalkeeper - that played for Hibs from 1935 to 1938, is this the same player?

He joined Lincoln in June 1938.

Made 34 apps for Alloa in 39/40: 4 in the Scottish League before this was abandoned; 28 in the East Regional League and 2 in the Emergency Cup.

He is almost certainly the J Culley who made 2 apps for Stirling Albion as a goalkeeper in September 1945 (1 Eastern League; 1 Victory Cup).
