Notably it isn't given in the SJFA Centenary History by McGlone & McClure so potentially it mightn't be the only wartime fixture?

EDIT: Infact it's quite strange as McGlone & McClure gives only 1 preceding match with Eire, in 1929 with the next not coming until 1947.

Admittedly the SFL added an Inter-League match v the League of Ireland in spring 1939, but spring 1940 seems an odd time to start a new fixture.

EDIT AGAIN: Infact the SJFA Centenary itself notes:
Matches with the Republic of Ireland are not reckoned to have commenced until 1947 but we have found a match Scotland played on 9th March 1929 against the Irish Free State in Dublin. There may have been more games in this series at this time but none can be found.
There were games in the 1930's between the Scottish Junior League and the Irish Free State so the game played 1940 might be in that series of games. One game was played 10th Feb 1934 result of which was Scottish Junior League 2-1 Irish Free State (result is in the Herald for 12th Feb) The Herald dated 20th April 1931 has the Scottish Junior League team selected to play two games, one against the irish Free State Association at Dalymount park Dublin and one the following day against a Connaught Association Select in Sligo.

v Ireland

Date 21 March 1903

Scotland as selected (Evening Post 17 March 1903)

Adams (Dunipace Juniors)
Turner (Blantye Victoria)
Richmond (Parkhead)
Horn (Yoker Athletic) Captain
Murdoch (Kirkintilloch Rob Roy)
Carr (Vale of Grange)
Brown (Strathclyde)
McGimpsey (Renfrew Victoria)
Bennet (Rutherglen Glencairn)
Kennedy (Glasgow Perthshire)
Thomson (Parkhead)

Referee: Sergeant Frank (Scottish Borderers)

Attendance 4,000 (Aberdeen Daily Journal 23 March 1903)

A couple of minor points from 1925 that a friend has told me:

Goalkeeper in two of the 1925 games is spelt "McSevich". There are several spellings of his surname but the correct spelling I am told is "McSevich".

Gray (Mugiemoss) is Dougie Gray very, very long-serving Rangers player.

Here are parts of the Scotland team v England at Coventry in 1912. I cannot find a line-up so these come from match reports.

John Walker - Right Back

McIntosh (Fairfield)

Tait (Fairfield)

John Connor (Perth Violet) Centre Forward

W Wilson (Arniston Rangers)

Interesting... I suppose that is possible - or maybe the Junior authorities were able to 'convert' an SJL trip into an SJFA one, if the England game had fallen by the wayside?

Requires subscription to view articles, but using the Irish Times archive search http://www.irishtimes.com/archive, on the Monday a headline was
To-day's Fixture Irish Juniors v Scottish Juniors, Dalymount Park, 3:30
and on the Tuesday
Association Football - Scottish Juniors Beaten

Nothing that I can see in the Glasgow Herald, and nothing more in the Scotsman.

The great work by Tom and Douglas means the SPREADSHEET now has most of the pre WWII line-ups and scorers. The post war sheet has most up to around 1997 and I'll continue the work on the 1990s and 2000s over the next week.

A jig-saw piece for the tour of Norway in 1921

Phillips of Dundee Violet scored three goals during the tour of the Scottish Junior Select in Norway. Robertson of Kirkintilloch Rob Roy was top scorer with nine.

It should be correct now, Douglas.

And thanks for taking the time to look out some info for us, Kjell.

Pre-war we reckon we are only missing 2 line-ups, 3 line-ups needing confirmed, plus the 1921 Norwegian Tour line-ups, if possible.
Also some goal scorers need finding although unfortunately, these may be lost in the mists of time.

However, considering it's only been a few weeks, all involved in this project thoroughly deserve a pat on the back, and more importantly, a large dram!
