I'm looking for further details on three friendly matches played by Kilmarnock, namely:

Tuesday, 16th October 1956 Brentford 0 Kilmarnock 4
Monday, 8th April 1957 Southampton 2 Kilmarnock 1
Wednesday, 9th October 1957 Derby County 1 Kilmarnock 1

I am after both the Kilmarnock line-ups and goalscorers, along with those of their respective opponents.

Thanks.

Hi Steve,

The usual man to answer this query would be David Ross, but due to time constraints he is not posting at the moment. I will email him and ask him to pass on your query to Richard Cairns, and hopefully he can help with the answers.

Thanks Alan.

And many thanks also for taking over the reins from David.

Much appreciated.

Steve,

My girl friend lives just up the road from Richard Cairns, who definitely has the information you require.

I will alert him of your query and hopefully Richard can post a response.

I spoke to Richard Cairns last night, he tells me.

Brentford game - Kilmarnock goals: Willie Harvey, Bertie Black, Frank Beattie, Gerry Mays; attendance: 5560.

Kilmarnock team: Jimmy Brown, Ralph Collins, Jim Stewart, Rab Stewart, Willie Toner, Alistair Mackay, Bertie Black, Willie Harvey, Gerry Mays, Frank Beattie, Billy Muir.

Southampton game - Gerry Mays (penalty): attendance 6439.

Team: Brown, Matt Watson, J Stewart, R Stewart, Bobby Dougan, Mackay, Muir, Harvey, Mays, Beattie Davie Burns.

Derby County game - Kilmarnock goal (own goal, no Derby player identified); attendance: 10,000.

Team; Brown, George Hill J Stewart, R Stewart, Toner, Mackay, Muir, Harvey, Mays, Beattie, Davie Curlett.

Hope this helps, but, unfortunately, Richard did not have the Southampton or Derby goal scorers.
