When Hibs played there last season just after he went on 'gardening leave', they were giving the grass a final trim with the lawnmowers before kick off, so the Hibs fans started singing "Ally Ally give us a wave..."

With Rangers not being publicly listed it's hard to tell, but you'd imagine that if the club had reached a severance package with him they'd have announced it. Unless anything changed from last year he's on the payroll until mid-December of this year.

And receiving something of the order of 70 grand per month (before tax, but that's another story).....

He is still being paid, yes. As he has just over 3 months left on his contract, it looks like he'll simply see this out. He refused attempts to settle earlier in the year.

Rejoice at this news, LS. Although, with only 3 months remaining on the contract, it's doubtful whether Rangers made much of a saving in this 'settlement'. I can only imagine someone finally got through to McCoist that he would be doing himself a long-term favour if he was seen to be co-operative.

RANGERS is delighted to announce that Ally McCoist has agreed to the early termination of his contract with the Club.

Agreement was reached quickly during a meeting with Rangers chairman Dave King, who expressed his gratitude for the contribution Ally has made to the Club both as a player and then manager.
