Indoor Football

Yesterday afternoon the East of Scotland FA's Football Nation Qualifying Cup final was played at the Oriam at Riccarton - Lowland League Spartans beat East of Scotland League Lothian Thistle HV 2-1. I'm pretty sure this will have been the first men's Senior (1st team) football final played indoors - possibly even first men's Senior (1st team) game played indoors full stop (not counting the fact that Hibs Development League side play most of their "home" fixtures there).

In the Junior world the first Junior Cup tie played indoors was Blantyre Victoria v Broughty Athletic in 2011. The tie had been postponed several times and so they played indoors at Ravenscraig.

AFAIA it was the first competitive senior match - and therefore senior cup final - played indoors. There have been a number of U20 games, youth internationals and so on played at Oriam since it opened last year, plus as noted a couple of Junior games were played at Ravenscraig (and also at Toryglen?) a few years ago. No doubt numerous friendlies have been played at Toryglen, Ravenscraig, Aberdeen Sports Village - which has no spectator seating - and Oriam since they respectively opened.
