Rangers men beaten by Dundee in 1951 League Cup Final

Post by Carlucci » Tue Jul 12, 2005 9:27 am

Could anyone name the Rangers men who faced Dundee in 1951 Scottish League Cup Final, and were beaten 3-2. Could also tell me the scoring sequence and who was the referee? Thank you a lot.

How come no one ever asks about Rangers wins?

The team was: Brown, Young, Little, McColl, Woodburn, Cox, Waddell, Findlay, Thornton, Johnson, Rutherford.

Scoring was Findlay 21, Flavell (Dundee) 47, Pattillo (Dundee) 69, Young 88, Boyd (Dundee) 89.

Jack Mowat was the referee
Fifty one and counting

I think the questions are just fine. If the guy wants to ask about the next time Rangers lost a League Cup Final after this one I'd be happy to enlighten him :D

This is like Bob Crampsey`s "Now You Know" column. Everyone knows fine the answer, they just want to wind up the opposition. Every so often you`ll get,"A mate @ work tells me Rangers once beat Celtic 8-1. I can`t believe this can be true. Please confirm & give the Rangers team & scorers." Next week, there`ll be,"Ach that was just a War game but I`m stunned to hear from a pal that Celtic once beat the Gers 7-1 in a Cup Final. Surely he`s mistaken but I`d like to (gloat) know the Celtic details."

Or questions like?

"I know Hibs have scored 7 goals against Hearts, have they ever scored more against Hibs?"

What about

"Everybody knows Hearts lost the title on the last day of the season in 1986 but my mate tells me they did the same thing before. In 1965. To Kilmarnock. Surely that can't be right?"

Guy down the pub says Jock Stein actually won his first trophy as a manger AGAINST Celtic. Can that possibly be right? Please supply details.

This is FUN :D

Moving into fantasy land - "My pal tells me Rangers once lost a game to a penalty in the last minute/Celtic had a goal disallowed for offiside. I just can`t believe it."
