Unofficial figure I have for First Round match at Civil Service Strollers versus Selkirk is 120.
The Cove Rangers v Keith 2nd Round match at Allan Park was originally listed as 317 crowd. I notice the SFA figures reduce this to 188...a fairly large proportional drop. On the basis that the same 188 figure is listed for the Edinburgh City v East Stirlingshire tie immediately beforehand on the list, could this be a typing error when considering the unlikelihood of exact consecutive figures?
It means that, with quite a few official attendances still missing, using some unofficial numbers, four Scottish FA Cup matches have entered the rarely witnessed realms of the double-figure attendance. If Wigtown did indeed muster only 36 spectators for the visit of Burntisland Shipyards it means that there were as many players (32 : 16 per team) and officials (3 + a fourth official?) within the playing area as there were onlookers within the ground!

I asked the SFA about this at the time and they confirmed the figure was't a typo and had been received independently from both games.Alan McCabe wrote: On the basis that the same 188 figure is listed for the Edinburgh City v East Stirlingshire tie immediately beforehand on the list, could this be a typing error when considering the unlikelihood of exact consecutive figures?

Someone stated on Saturday (match commentator?) that QOS vs. Linlithgow was the 1st ever meeting of a senior & junior club in the Cup. I don`t have to hand all Girvan`s Cup games but I`m sure they`ve played a senior side. Queen`s Park beat Girvan Amateurs 3-0 @ Girvan in 1977`s 2nd round. Is that the same club as the current one?

Girvan also played Stranraer this season before our game v Linlithgow.LLD wrote:Montrose v Pollok earlier in the season would pre-date the Queens v Linlithgow game at least...
I suppose you could count Girvan's previous foray into the cup, but they weren't junior in 1977.
Girvan however have joint status and have always played in the Scottish Cup. It's not a new thing for them.
Montrose and Pollok would be the first novelty meeting between a senior league side and a junior side since the new competition rules.
Our game on Saturday would be the first between a full time senior side and a junior side.
Just came across the match report from the Galloway Gazette which says:Alan McCabe wrote:Unconfirmed claim that barely 36 spectators saw Burntisland Shipyards win at Wigtown!
"There had been excited talk in Wigtown about Burntisland arriving with four coachloads of fans - but the anticipated invasion never materialised.
"They brought down their team and their committee, and that was about it, " Jim told the Gazette. "The attendance was much the same as you would expect at a normal league game."
Just how isolated is Wigtown that anyone there ever seriously entertained the thought they were about to be invaded by coachloads from Burntisland?
