Sol Bamba/Ivory Coast

Post by bobby s » Thu May 13, 2010 11:50 am

Hi there

Can anyone suggest where to find out what the Ivory Coast teams were for these two friendly games:

v Cameroon 14/6/2009
v Burkina Faso 1/2/2009

The reason is I have a big list of all Hibs international players, complete with all their caps. I have Sol as playing in 15 games, but wikipedia and others have him as playing 16 games.

I'm guessing that he played in one of those two games, but I'm struggling to corroborate as my usual sources like rsssf, soccernet, soccerway, google aren't showing team line ups for those two games.

Thanks
B

There's a match against Burkina Faso HERE where he came on as a sub with eight minutes to go but it is a different date from the one you have.

Also FIFA show no match against Cameroon in the first half of 2009. You sure these were full internationals? The FIFA records are usually reliable.

I think this is likely to be the source for the statement he has 16 caps, which may help a bit:

There is a forum attached to the site so you could post a message there.

That's brilliant David/Ian/Sure - thanks very much for the help (and the new sources)

David, they - Cote D'Ivoire - did play Burkina Faso twice in the WCQ/African Nations Qualifiers in 2009, but there was an additional friendly in February it would appear.

"World Soccer" lists all international results (though sadly not all lineups) each month - they included the Cameroon match, which they said was played on 13 June, but no mention of any match against Burkina Faso other than the World Cup qualifiers.
