RE-ELOECTIONS
I`m sure this topic has come up before & Brian answered but I can`t find it now but I wonder if he, or anyone else, has voting figures for the re-elections for Division One(not Two) clubs in the period 1893 to 1915.

Re: RE-ELOECTIONS
Thanks INTERSNAMEHERE but that only gives re-elections/elections to Division Two between 1894 & 1915 NOT re-elections of Division One clubs.
Re: RE-ELOECTIONS
These are listed under the promotion/relegation heading

Re: RE-ELOECTIONS
Thanks Brian. That`s the ticket. Have there not been any re-election issues since the Second World War?
Re: RE-ELECTIONS
Seems unlikely what with the C Divison expanding to include reserve sides. It is possible a search through the Herald's reports may reveal when the SFL offially dropped the rule. My belief is the rule was quietly dropped after the C Division was disbanded. However an old Ayr United history I read a long time ago did maintain Ayr had to apply for re-election after finishing bottom in the mid 1960s, but this is probably apocryphal...

Re: RE-ELOECTIONS
Were there any elections when Meadowbank joined the league in 1974 or did they just apply & get in?
Re: RE-ELOECTIONS
A full(ish) record of applications for a place in the League (outwith the usual re-election procedure) can be found at http://scottish-football-historical-arc ... ctions.htm

Re: RE-ELOECTIONS
Poor old Dundee Wanderers couldn't catch a break - try as they might they just couldn't get a second stint in the league set up. Must have hurt to see Dundee Hibernian- a team who muscled in and grabbed Tannadice from under their feet- get in at only their second attempt! Also, a lot of love shown to Dundee in the voting- given preference over Hibs and Motherwell to a spot in Div 1 and re-elected in their hour of need in 1899- a time of liquidation and 11-0 defeats in the league!
